Planning for the Twins’ First Birthday (Korean Dohl Planning)

A baby’s first birthday, or Chut-Dohl (첫돌) or Dohl (돌), in Korean culture, is a huge deal. Actually, even a baby’s 100 day celebration is a big deal in Korean culture. Historically, many children would pass before they would turn 100 days, let alone 1 year. Poverty was really high in Korea, and many babies would not be able to survive sicknesses. So it was a big celebration to see children reach 1 year of age. People would gather to celebrate the child and wish a long and prosperous life. Of course, living conditions and medicine are now advanced, but it’s still a tradition that carries on within the Korean…

We are 1 month shy away from the boys first birthday! I know at each month I say it’s so crazy how fast time flies and how fast the boys are growing but I say it again because it’s so true!!! We spent my spring break being pretty busy but also really nice to get out of the house and hang out with some friends. They even got to go on a little playdate with other kiddos while all…

    Introducing Solids to Twins

Per doctor recommendation, we decided to introduce solids to the boys when they turned 6 months old! Like everything else I do for the twins, I did some research to figure out how to go about doing this thing. Everything we do is new to me since I am a first-time parent and I don’t have too many mama friends. I try to just figure this all out on my own with my own research. How to know when your baby is ready for solids! has interest for your foods. My boys began to have major staring issues when we would eat anything. They would also open their mouth if…

    Tips for Increasing Breastmilk Supply

Breastfeeding has never been easy for us. With an inconsistent supply of milk, it was hard trying to produce enough breastmilk for 2 boys, whose intake is only increasing. I did so much research and followed all of these different things listed below to increase my milk supply! Consistently follow a pumping schedule. This was number 1. I would pump right after I breastfeed to empty out my breasts. My lactation consultant taught me that lactation will increase 2x once the breast is emptied. Pretty much you get a refill as long as it’s emptied. More stimulated your breasts are, the more milk it will produce. Even when my boys…
