I hope to eventually blog about my entire pregnancy journey from getting pregnant to birth, but for now I want to share our story of getting pregnant and finding out I was pregnant with twins! The journey: our fears in growing our family. We previously had lots of fears about having children. Responsibility. I used to say, if you have a child, you’re stuck with them and can’t return it!! Yes, I do realize it is a bit of a ridiculous joke, because you should never consider children as items to be returned. But my perspective was that welcoming a child into your family is such a tremendous life change…

Postpartum: Overcoming Anger
I generally don’t consider myself to be a person who gets angry easily. Trained to be patient Working with kids with special needs for the past 6 years, I really feel like I was in patience training school. No matter how much my hair was pulled, my skin was scratched, or face was spat at, I was able keep my emotions steady. I really felt proud to be working in the field that I’m in and to keep at it to the point where I’m pursuing a higher degree in it. I found that I truly enjoy working with children and teens with behavioral problems and to teach them appropriate…

Do you want more kids?
One of the few questions we get asked here and there. When Paul and I got married almost 4 years ago, we both agreed that we didn’t want to have kids right away, but when we do start having kids, Paul wanted at least 3 children and I wanted 5. Yes, I admit I’m a bit cray cray, and do I still want 5? Maybe I do.. Maybe I don’t.. Fear of Having a Third I really would love to have a daughter. I mean, I describe myself to be a “pink person” and I love “girly” and “glittery” things. When I used to nanny a 3-year-old girl, I used…

Daily Schedule for 9 Month Old Twins
I heard somewhere that babies thrive on routine. When they know what to expect for the day, they are happier. For us to implement an expected daily schedule, I would have be a full-time, stay-at-home mom, and currently, these boys have multiple environments and caretakers as I work 3 days out of the week. So I see following a routine as a luxury in its own way. I’m a believer of routines. Routine looks like doing a sequence of activities at the same time everyday. Well, that sounds like the perfect day for me! NOT. I do NOT like routine. I am total go-with-the-flow kinda gal. I like spontaneity. I…

Diaper Caddy Organization for Baby
Diaper caddies are a necessity in our home, and I’m sure, in any home with a babe in diapers! It’s a perfect organization/storage solution to keep all baby essentials in one little neat place. When the boys were newborns, we used to have 3 of these organizers–1 for each room: our bedroom, the twins’ room, and living room. Now we have 2 because the boys moved out of our room completely when they hit 3 months, so we no longer need one in our room. Since caring for these boys require all our attention, I figure that I should make things easier for us.. call me lazy if you want,…

The struggle of being a twin mom
The boys are 41 weeks now… 9 months and 12 days old. That is how long I have survived in trying to keep these 2 little humans alive. Being a mom is hard! Here’s something for ya… It’s a struggle every single day. Some days are better than others and some days are worse than others, but I’m doing my best and giving my all. The dishes may have piled up over the course of a few days, the laundry might not be folded from last week, toys are still probably all over the floor from the morning, and we don’t always enjoy a home-cooked meal, but the boys are…

We will miss you, Halmunee.
When your heart drops upon receiving that phone call… This week has been a bit emotionally crazy. We got a call earlier this week with news that Paul’s grandma is back in the hospital due to her unstable health conditions.. with even more shocking news that she might only make it through the week, if we’re lucky. While she was conscious and awake earlier in the week, she was in a lot of pain and suffering going back and forth from the ICU.. The family made the decision to pull the life support plug midweek, and she went into a coma. Now, we are unsure how much longer she will…

9 Month Twins: Developmental Milestones, Skills, and Updates
The twins were SICK all month long!! This past month, the boys went through cycles of getting each other sick. One would get sick and then when he finally got better, he would say, “Okay, now it’s your turn!” Runny noses, coughing, and clinginess for 30 days… The cold weather and added rain probably didn’t help either. Having sick babies is no fun, especially when you have TWO sick babies and they BOTH want to be held all day long. (There were a few days like that this month, and my attitude was just plain stinky on those days) My body tells me I cant hold both of them anymore.…
